The Sanctuary is a special place for people and animals, nestled in the woods in South Western Quebec near the Ontario Border. The Sanctuary is also wherever we hold our workshops, yoga classes, and retreats, and it’s a virtual place - online on the internet. It’s also a state of mind.Snow Angels Sanctuary helps you discover your sanctuary via holistic services including yoga, workshops, and retreats.

 

What is a Sanctuary?

Snow Angels Sanctuary is a place of refuge, or learning and of growing. It is a physical place, a spiritual space, a virtual place, an emotional space.

WELCOME TO SNOW ANGELS SANCTUARY

My family has always been very supportive. Not always initially but eventually they always saw my potential and supported my endeavours. Despite this support, I was always told that I could not save the world, and of course I always said I could.

That drive to help others led me to a career in social work as well as learning about complimentary modalities such as herbal medicine, aromatherapy and yoga.

My calling led me to Labrador, Canada, to a small northern coastal village, totally isolated from the rest of the world. While living there, I acquired my team of dogs, my snow angels. Through them I discovered who I really was. They awakened a passion in me that was buried so deep that I did not even realize it existed

Living in a small village in a “fishbowl” environment as a social worker and as part of the community, gave me an opportunity to see real people struggle with real and difficult issues.

Where I lived was rugged, isolated and unforgiving. It was survival of the fittest, not only physically but emotionally and spiritually. It was there that I saw my own self destructive behaviour mirrored in the people that I cared about and also those that I worked with.

It was a life changing experience. Life and lessons happen where you least expect and when you least expect. If you are able to survive the traumas, the losses and the grief you eventually reach an awareness that can illuminate even the darkest and most difficult situations.

It is this passion and compassion that has created the “Sanctuary”. It is a haven for you to recommit to yourself and enhance your life. Thank you for being here.

Introducing Kundalini Yoga!

Kundalini yoga is an ancient form of yoga that has only been practiced in the west relatively recently. Kundalini is one of the more spiritual types of yoga. It goes beyond the physical performance of poses with its emphasis on breathing, meditation, mudras and chanting.
